When Loss Changes Everything: Grief Training Track
Online Training for Clinicians of Color
About this Training
Training Title: Tending to the Grief of the Clinician
Date: December 7, 2026
Time: 5-7 PM EST
This 2-hour experiential workshop invites Clinicians of Color to gently attend to the often-unspoken grief that accompanies clinical work. Participants will explore multiple forms of grief—cumulative, racialized, collective, and professional—while examining the personal and systemic forces that shape how grief is held or silenced. Through guided reflection and pair or small-group dialogue, clinicians will connect meaningfully with their own experiences in community. The workshop concludes with participants creating a simple, sustainable grief ritual to support presence, longevity, and well-being in their work.
Training Title: Multi-aspects of Grief and Loss: How to support clients through major life transitions
Date: December 28, 2026
Time: 5-7 PM EST
Grief isn’t a mandatory or even available as a course in most therapists’ programs, which leaves a gap in training for a topic that is universe to the human condition. This training series will take an in-depth look into grief and its multiple factors. The focus will be on defining grief, cultural considerations for grief, clinical implementations, common diagnosis from the DSM 5 TR (differential diagnosis and case conceptualization included), clinical interventions and methods. This training series seeks to make sure clinicians leave feeling empowered to engage with clients clinically coping with grief with interventions and knowledge. No matter how we continue to rapidly modernize, grief will always be a factor to the human condition that time will not get rid of.
