About this Training

Title: Navigating the Slow Burn of Grief in a Fast-Paced Society
Date: September 14, 2026
Time: 5:00–7:00 PM (EST)

Whether expected or not, the grief of loss can be deeply disruptive to our busy lives. Navigating this process is challenging, whether you are supporting a client, a loved one, or coping with personal loss. This seminar explores common and uncommon causes of grief, expected and unexpected reactions to loss, and various coping strategies. We will also discuss how helping professionals can empower others while maintaining the personal wellness necessary to show up for their clients. Additionally, we will examine the cultural awareness required to competently support individuals during their time of grief.

Title: The Ethical Considerations of Suicide Prevention among Helping Professions
Date: September 21, 2026
Time: 5:00–7:00 PM (EST)

The Ethical Considerations of Suicide Prevention among Helping Professions explores the ethical responsibilities clinicians face when assessing and responding to suicide risk. Grounded in the NASW Code of Ethics, this training will review key ethical principles that guide decision-making in healthcare and mental health settings.

Participants will examine the balance between client autonomy and the duty to ensure safety, ethical challenges related to confidentiality, and the legal and ethical considerations of involuntary commitment for individuals at high risk of suicide. The session will also highlight how ethical standards apply when supporting diverse and at-risk populations.

By the end of the training, clinicians will be better equipped to apply ethical principles when assessing suicide risk and navigating complex situations with confidence, responsibility, and care.
