Training Title: Why Perinatal Work Hits Differently: A Clinical Training Series on Anxiety, Loss, and the Clinician’s Nervous System
Trainer: Chana Johnson
Date: February 16, 2026
Time: 5-7 PM EST
Perinatal mental health work often carries a heaviness that clinicians feel but struggle to name. This series examines why anxiety, grief, and identity disruption present differently during the perinatal period and why these experiences often feel especially heavy for clinicians. Participants will explore the unique emotional, nervous system, and relational dynamics of perinatal mental health care, while learning how clinician anxiety, countertransference, and a sense of heightened responsibility can subtly shape treatment decisions. This series is designed for therapists who are seeking a deeper, more reflective understanding of their clients — and themselves — in the treatment process.
