Building Relational Privilege
Working with BIPOC couples who experience racism
About this Training
Race based trauma lands in the body as a form of social rejection, harm and bodily threat. This can result in neurobiological shifts and a struggle to achieve true emotionally intimacy and connection. Intimacy can, therefore, sometimes feel like an elusive Relational Privilege for BIPOC couples. In this session, we will look at the impact of racism on BIPOC relationships, as well as unique strategies to address race based trauma and build intimacy in the face of systemic harm.
